Hello everyone, Join us this week as we make our way down the Bund for NextStep at the Laris Vault Bar on Tuesday, September 11th from 8 til 10pm. The Vault Bar is offering great drink specials throughout the evening, and of course there is no cover charge for entry. As our featured guest this week, we will have David Laris, renowned international chef and founder of David Laris Concept (DLC) and Laris Restaurant, the award wining restaurant at Three on the Bund Shanghai. DLC focuses on creating and developing Lifestyle Food and Beverage concepts that can be implemented within the Chinese market and the international arena. David will be on hand throughout the evening to speak with all guests; and if you work at it hard enough he may even let you in on some of his famous recipes. Remember, NextStep is about bringing the entrepreneur community and its supporting services together to learn, to communicate, and to collaborate. Featured Guest: David Laris - Chef Restaurateur :

David Laris is the Founder of David Laris Concept (DLC) and creator of Laris, the award wining restaurant at Three on the Bund Shanghai. DLC focuses on creating and developing Lifestyle Food and Beverage concepts that can be implemented within the Chinese market and the international arena. To date, the scope of business and operations encompasses high end fine dining, second level restaurant concepts, exclusive clubs and bars, café/delicatessen and boutique retail food concepts.

Under DLC, David has created Laris Restaurant, a fine dining contemporary experience at the highly acclaimed Three on the Bund as well as the Chocolate Room, a high end chocolate brand, CWF a seafood bar and restaurant and more recently Slice, a gourmet café and delicatessen concept currently with multi-store locations.

DLC currently provides management consultancy services as well as concept development and execution for several high profile brands including but not limited to Dolce & Gabbana Martini Bar, Shanghai and Sanlitun Boutique Hotel Project in Beijing by Swire Group.

In brief, David Laris is synonymous with re-defining the Lifestyle, Food and Beverage markets by creating, building and developing strong identifiable brands.

David, who is of Australian-Greek heritage, started his love affair with food at an early age. A Chef’s Apprenticeship in the classics, studied in Sydney Australia, prepared him to create some of the finest contemporary cuisine with influences from around the world. After completing his training, he continued to revolutionize full flavored contemporary fine dining. David has since further explored his natural instinct for blending different flavors and styles with travel and work taking him to the Far East working in Macau, Hong Kong and Hanoi.

Starting his career as a Chef, over the years David's passion for the industry and his desire to always develop and improve upon what he has done led to the evolution into the realm of Chef Restaurateur.

A Chef of immense talent who previously headed up Mezzo in London, designer Terrance Conran’s flagship restaurant in Soho, David received dozens of accolades for his innovative and exciting culinary style during his years at Mezzo. Noted especially for his talent for mixing fresh ideas and classic dishes, he elevated Mezzo to world-renowned status through his diverse culinary approach.

During his time in the UK, he was a regular contributor on British television and developed a media personality as a “Celebrity Chef”. Now in Shanghai, David continues to be involved with various forms of media, writes regularly for domestic publications and is often asked to comment on trends in the Food and Beverage industry.
